Natalia Tobón Tobón is a political scientist and literary scholar from the Universidad de los Andes, with advanced studies in economics and politics from the University of Notre Dame. She is currently a candidate in the joint Executive MBA program at the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, and the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Over the past 19 years, Natalia has built a multifaceted career in Colombia, China, and Italy. Her experience ranges from developing communication and strategic positioning strategies to opening new markets, managing international cooperation projects, and designing investment, export, and tourism promotion campaigns.

As an entrepreneur, she founded the news agency China Files in Beijing in 2008, which proposed an innovative method for disseminating content about China and Asia in major Spanish-speaking media worldwide. She was the official correspondent for Portafolio and RCN Television in China, and published in renowned international media such as El País of Spain, La Nación of Argentina, Qué Pasa in Chile, Expansión in Mexico, and numerous Colombian media outlets such as El Tiempo, El Espectador, Semana, and Caracol Radio. China Files became the leading Latin American source on China and the second most important in the Spanish language according to IberGlobal in 2014.

In 2009, Natalia created the spinoff China Files Communications, to support the public positioning of foreign companies and government entities in China, with notable clients such as Beijing Design Week, ProChile in China, the Colombian Pavilion at Expo Shanghai, and the European Union Delegation in China.

Back in Colombia, she founded the communications agency Bond, focused on companies with an international vision and foreign companies established in the country. The merger of Bond with the law firm 1493 led to the creation of Cárdenas Tobón, a consultancy in legal and public relations services.

Her international experience has allowed her to assume several roles in the Colombian public sector. She served as Commercial Counselor at the Colombian Embassy in China and Director of the Commercial Office of ProColombia in China from 2018 to 2023. In 2020, she was appointed Director of the Asia Hub of ProColombia, leading the coordination of offices in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, India, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates.

She was an advisor to SENA in the Asia-Pacific Cooperation Table in 2016 and Director of Communications for the Colombian Pavilion at Expo Milan 2015.

In 2014, she was recognized as one of the 100 most outstanding Colombians abroad by Marca País and Fusionarte, receiving the recognition from President Juan Manuel Santos. In 2015, the China-Colombia Friendship Association and the Embassy of China in Colombia highlighted her contribution to China-Colombia bilateral relations in their commemorative book celebrating 35 years of diplomatic relations.

Natalia speaks Spanish, English, Italian, French, and Chinese, allowing her to navigate and lead successfully in various international contexts.

Andrés Cárdenas Muñoz is a lawyer from Universidad Externado de Colombia, with a joint Executive MBA from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, and Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He holds a Master's degree in International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary, University of London, and has studied international business law at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

With over 20 years of experience, Andrés has advised companies, start-ups, governments, and non-governmental organizations in strategic negotiation, expansion, and internationalization processes in various countries such as Colombia, China, Cambodia, Ivory Coast, Guatemala, Peru, Spain, Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates, among others.

His legal practice is characterized by a combination of experience in transactions of large corporations with corporate structures and advising dynamic and technological start-ups, preparing them for internationalization and financing. His influence in the Colombian entrepreneurial ecosystem led him to be appointed as the C-Emprende Ambassador of Colombia in China, an initiative of the Colombian government to position the country as an entrepreneurship hub in the region and the world.

In the public sector, Andrés has had a notable career. He served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade in 2021. From 2010 to 2014, he was an advisor to the Colombian government's negotiation team on Free Trade Agreements and Bilateral Investment Treaties, and he was a government delegate to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and other forums such as the WTO, OECD, Pacific Alliance, Mercosur, and the Andean Community.

In the academic field, Andrés has been an active figure. For 10 years, he directed the Research Group on Contracting and International Dispute Resolution at Universidad Externado de Colombia, where he is a Full Professor. He has published academic articles with the editorial seals of Universidad Externado, Oxford University Press, and other publishing houses.

In 2014, he founded the law firm 1493. Today, after merging with the communications agency Bond, the firm is known as Cárdenas Tobón, a consultancy in legal and Public Relations services.
